"You want what?"
Thinking that it would be a good idea for her to take on some other quests for materials, Xavier had come to an NPC whose name she had heard floating around. Apparently it was a popular choice, even if she had heard the quest giver was a little... strange.
"Paws. He repeated to her as if he weren't completely insane. "Uh yeah, I got that. What I don't get is WHY you want- ... you know what, forget it, I don't want to know, I'll get them for you." He gave her a large, friendly smile before waving her off, "I look forward to it, come back soon~"
Xavier headed out of town, still creeped out about how the guy wanted her to bring back some wolf paws for him. It sounded just plain gross. Either way, she wasn't about to question whatever it was he was going to do with them now. Letting out a long sigh, she headed into the forest to find her first target.

~Post~ Finding just one wolf, however, was more difficult than it seemed. The forest was darker than she first thought, the shadows stretching out to cover the floor. Knowing the wolves would be use to the darker surroundings, she toggled on her night vision so she would be able to see better. Though, everywhere she looked the wolves were in pairs of two or three, some of them even having alphas in their pack, not something she was willing to face down just yet at her level. Shoot, she didn't even have very good gear yet. Hopefully she would be able to fix that while she was out here as well. Searching the area, it took her quite the while to finally find one of the wolves that had diverted from its path. ~Post~ Having a laps in sight, even with her vision slightly better, it didn't help her see the root of a tree sticking out of the ground. Getting her foot caught in it just as she activated her sword art. As she went down, she just barely grazed the wolf thanks to her dexterity, but before she could get back to her feet, it took a nasty hit on her. " That's rude you know, biting people! See how you like it!" ~Post~ Not doing too hot this round, Xavier whiffed her spear just over the wolf's head. " No surprise, you're more nimble than some boar, but then again so am I!" Leaping into the air, she dodged the wolf’s lunge for her, managing to keep out of its way with ease at least. That things bite really hurt and she wasn’t too keen on it taking out another chunk of her health. Still, she needed to get these things down, and quick. ~Post~ While she wasn’t able to hit it too hard, Xavier still managed to give the wolf a good slash to the paw. It wasn’t nearly as easy to take these guys down and it was starting to show just during her first encounter with them. Unable to imagine how the next four fights were going to go, she held strong and kept her spear pointed down at the wolf to keep it at bay after her attack. ~Post~ Faster than the wolf, Xavier gave it a good scratch across its muzzle. Yiping, the creature turned tail and ran from her, not wanting to stick around after a blow to its sensitive nose. " Woah, woah, woah, hey now, we aren't done yet!" Running after the monster, Xavier kept up alright, but she was having trouble swinging at it while she ran. Trying to search ahead, she could pick up that there was another wolf nearby and they were getting closer and closer to it. ~Post~ Luck run dry, Xavier nearly failed in her attempt to hit the wolf, her weapon barely grazing it as she stumbled, allowing the wolf to reach its companion. Groaning at the newest addition to the group, she was faced with a new issue. With the second wolf by its side the first re-entered combat with her, taking her left as the second took the right. Though they both made a lung for her, neither of them could get in a hit as she wheeled out of the way skillfully. ~Post~ Utterly failing, this wolf just did not want to go down for her. Simply done with it, Xavier turned her back on the creature, not the wisest of moves, but her temper was starting to get the better of her. ~Post~ Able to actually hit this beast, Xavier did a heavy amount of damage to it with her strongest attack. It wasn't enough to bring it down, but she could see that it was on par with its companion now. With the two weakened, they were easier for her to dodge, but she knew she still needed to get between them for the final strike. ~Post~ Running in, Xavier scored a solid hit on the beast, driving it back a few feet where it lay motionless on the ground now. " About time! Alright, just you and me now..." Facing back towards the first wolf she had started combat with, she pointed her weapon at the thing. For a second, the wolf paused, as if contemplating its next move. Then, once again, the stupid thing ran off to find a new companion to help defend it. " Oh no you don't!" Charging angrily at this thing that just wouldn't give up to her. " You're impossible!"
