After finding her first item, Xavier realized that she needed was suddenly in need of someone to appraise it for her. Originally she had gone off to Lane's shop, but did an about face at the cost. He wasn't better than any other run of the mill appraiser so she figured she might well learn the craft herself. She still didn't know too many people in the game yet, so wasn't exactly sure of anyone else that might have a keener eye for identifying something.
Wandering around town, she had heard of an NPC who gave a quest to teach players the appraisal skill. Searching for him, she found a wiry young man with dark brown eyes and blond hair. He greeted her with the standard, "Hello adventurer!" It was nice in a way, how polite they were, but it deterred from thinking that they were actually alive and feeling like the players when they all opened a conversation like that. Sure, the higher level once would probably be different, more complex, but she wasn't there just yet. Sighing, she went ahead and approached the NPC to accept his quest.

~Post~ " So, I here you're looking to learn the appraisal skill! Well tell you what, you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours. I'm hung up here, but if you go around the city and find some yous my niece seems to have lost, I'll teach you my skill." It was a little different and sounded pretty cute. ~Post~ Figuring his niece was just a small girl who was suppose to stay around the house, she looked around the house the young man stood a short distance from. As sweet as little kids could be, she was aware of how easily they could overlook things in plain sight. Checking under the porch, around tall grass by a swing set, then up in a tree found her three toys already. ~Post~ Finding one of the girl's toys sitting against the mailbox as if it had been counting to ten in a hide and seek game, Xavier smiled. She remembered when she was a little girl playing games like that with her toys as well. There were some good and bad times about her life as a child, but she preferred looking into the present and future. Right now, her future was making a little girl's day. ~Post~ The bushes didn't seem to contain any of the girl's toys, but she figured that was for the best. Mini trees with poky branches and possible spiders was not a good place for a young girl to play. Figuring that the next best place for her to be would be somewhere designed for children, Xavier headed off for the park! It wasn't too far, and the place was already crawling with kids who were. ~Post~ Getting to the park, she found enough toys to fill a box with. Every time she picked something up and tried to add it to her inventory as a quest item, however, she didn't find anything. It was tiring work, especially since each child she came across wanted to play with all the toys she had collected already, but she didn't mind. Xavier was use to such things and loved to play with kids. She would have agreed to a game of tag if she didn't have a quest to complete. ~Post~ Now certain that nothing was around for her to find, Xavier left the park. Pausing, she tried to think of another area the toys might be in. Thinking of her own sweet shop, she thought that a candy shop might be a good space to search for the toys. ~Post~ Finding two rubber balls on her way over, Xavier added them to her inventory. She was a little over halfway done with her quest now, which made her happy. More than happy to search the candy store next, she smiled at the doorstep. She had, and still did love sweets, part of the reason she was running her own sweet shop. ~Post~ Well, she may not have found any of the toys, but Xavier sure did enjoy herself a good handful of candy herself. Even kids don't usually leave their toys in the candy shop. Still, she got something sweet out of it so it was worth. ~Post~ Xavier wasn't sure if she should be happy or worried that she kept finding toys in the street. She was glad that she was getting her quest done, but worried since it meant the girl was playing in the streets. At least most of them she was finding around mailboxes, left to count or hide in the grass.
