~Post~ Leaping out of the grass, Xavier brought her spear straight down on the boar. It squealed in surprised at her new wake up call, rolling over and trying to butt her with its snout. The thing was still too asleep though, letting her easily jump out of the way. ~Post~ " Well then!" Feeling the power of the critical hit under her swing, Xavier watched it roll with her spear and land on the ground with a soft thud. Perhaps these boars were easy simply because they were sick, maybe that's why she couldn't find a challenging one to give her materials. " Well, hopefully this one is different..." ~Post~ Blinking slowly, Xavier narrowed her eyes at the beast, " What... the heck?" Of all the things she had seen, a boar wearing some sort of shoes was probably near the top of her list. Tugging a pair of Apprentice Made Boots off of its feet, she inspected them for any sort of damage, but didn't find anything unusual about them. " Well, whatever boars liked to do in their spare time isn't any sort of business of mine." Putting the boots in her inventory, she stood up and patted herself down to get rid of any dirt on her knees. She had to admit, she was getting tired of trying to get meat from the boars. ~Post~ " Let's see..." Nudging some of the grass out of the way as she searched, Xavier didn't come up with much at first. It wasn't until she picked up a small streak of brown against all of the green that she found a small mushroom. " Ah, hah, perfect!" Bending down to pick the shroom, she added it to her bag as one of the ingredients to bring back to the old lady. ~Post~ Peering through the darkness, Xavier spotted a rather interesting looking tree in the distance. At a first glance it looked like it had a patchy reflective coating causing it to sparkle slightly. However, when she came up for a closer look she noticed that it was actually a few apples in the tree reflecting moonlight. It was another perfect source for her to gather from so she made her way up the tree. Getting up to the first branch, she was able to reach three ripe apples, plucking them from the tree with ease. ~Post~ Reaching the next branch up, Xavier found herself face to face with a rather large, and rather hairy spider standing between her and what looked like the trees prize apple. Making a face at the creature, she leaned over to pluck one of tree's leaves to bat the thing away in case it tried to bite her for smacking it with her hand. Grinning to herself, she picked the fruit, inspecting it just to find out that there was a large worm hole just on the other side of it. " Ugh, that's just nasty!" Tossing the apple to the ground, she left it to sit rejected against the grass for wasting her time. ~Post~ Succeeding in pulling herself up, Xavier took a moment to just sit on the branch and relax slightly. She'd been out here for awhile now and the moon was creeping its way across the sky whenever she took a passing glance at it. Feeling slightly worn, she closed her eyes for a short nap before she would continue onward, toggling her night vision off for the moment while she hid in the tree from monsters instead. Her nap wasn't made to last long however. About ten minutes in a small object plopped in her lap, startling her awake and causing her to look down at what it was. To her surprise, an apple had willing leaped into her possession, apparently wanting to be eaten. ~Post~ " Ugh, I didn't know it made such a difference!" Though it wasn't much, Xavier could tell by the slightly darker tint that she hadn't flipped her nightly vision back on. Doing so, she let out a small sigh at the convenience. She hadn't been able to tell the difference before, but now that it was on again she realized it was like turning brightness up on a game by about 1%, which might make all the difference. Hopefully it would get stronger as she leveled it so she could make her way in the dark just as easily in the night. In fact, for her it did make all the difference, she paused to toggle her vision back on just long enough to find to lovely apples right in front of her nose. ~Post~ Popping her head out through the leaves, Xavier looked down to find herself at the very top of the tree. It was pretty cool being so high up, she liked it. Glancing sideways, she couldn't see any apples around her, but she had been so positive there was at least one all the way up here. ~Post~ " There you are!" Finding the one she had been after hiding on the other side of the branch she was standing on, Xavier reached out to pick it. The thing was just barely out of her reach, but she wasn't about to give up on it. Slowly leaning over, she held onto another branch beside the apple to get the slightly additional distance she needed. Finally grabbing onto it, she yanked it from the tree, calling out " Gotcha-AAAH!" .... just before the branch she was holding onto snapped. The falling part was pretty fun, but once she hit the ground- that part wasn't fun. It didn't hurt her too much, but her health did drop slightly from fall damage. " At least I got the apple.
